V4 Stories

Greetings from Honda President Takeo Fukui
When a team of young Honda engineers, hungry for success, were working on the ambitious NR 500 oval-piston project in 1978, they did not suspect that they were part of the opening chapter of a history that would bring enormous challenges, include unprecedented racing fame and finally lead to one of the most beloved street motor cycles in the world. V4 engine technology is associated with unique qualities, this conviction runs like a thread through the 30-year history of Honda’s V4 four-strokes; this heritage stretches from the NR500 to today’s RC212V V4 MotoGP racing bike. Honda has never been afraid to explore new technologies and to set itself extremely ambitious design goals. Challenges have spurred Honda on from the beginning, they are the fuel that drives the company.

Nothing reflects our passion for technology better than those machines that are powered by Honda V4 engines. This Website is devoted to the two-wheeled legends of which Honda is very proud.

And we can promise that the story of the V4 is anything but over...
